Sail Portsmouth's Sea Challenge

Sea Challenge is Sail Portsmouth's sailing and leadership scholarship program that sends students on a voyage aboard a tall ship to build resilience, teamwork, and confidence. This year's voyage will take place from July 17th - July 24th and will be run by the World Ocean School, in Boston, MA.

During the week, students aged 14-18 live and work alongside the professionally trained crew as they take part in STEM-based learning as well as basic seamanship skills including steering, navigating, setting sails, cooking, standing watch, and more. Putting teens in the challenging environment of a tall ship sailing on the ocean helps them develop skills that lead to success in school, work, and life: teamwork, accountability, perseverance, self-belief, confidence, and how to become tenacious problem solvers.

  • Tuition is $2,100 for the week-long voyage and covers all costs, including room and board.

  • 75% of participants receive financial assistance.

  • Scholarships are awarded on the basis of need and can cover 100% of costs.

Nootro Energy Golf Tournament to Benefit the Unified Program

Nootro Energy, founded by Dover High School alumni Judah Payeur (Class of 2023) and Ted Lipinski (Class of 2022), was built not only as a business endeavor but as a way to give back to the community that shaped them. Both Judah and Ted participated in the Unified program during their time at Dover High, and that experience left a lasting impact. Now, for the second year running, Dover Unified is the beneficiary of the Nootro Charity Golf Tournament, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the program. The 2nd Annual NCGT will be held this summer at The Oaks Golf Links on Monday, July 6th, and we'd love to see the Dover community come out and support a great cause. Registration is now open at trynootro.com/pages/2nd-annual-ncgt.

Summer Programs at AIR (Arts in Reach)

AIR is a youth-centered organization committed to inclusivity and accessibility. Youth and teens ages 10-18 can take part in community arts programs led by professional artists. Together, mentors and teens create supportive spaces to take creative risks, build confidence, and express themselves through the arts. AIR believes every teen deserves the opportunity to thrive and grow into a confident, self-reliant adult. AIR programs are open to all, completely free, and include transportation assistance. Through a variety of art forms, teens build creativity, leadership, and community. See this link for summer programs: https://artsinreach.org/programs/
